Candidates should demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:
- Minimum three years’ experience in design/marketing environment with a significant focus on print
- Degree in graphic design, fine arts, or related area
- Hands-on experience and proficient working knowledge in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office
- Proficient on Apple/MAC
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Exceptional customer-service and team-participation skills
- Must be able to multitask and meet challenging deadlines
- Solid grasp of design concepts and typography
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of photography
- Have an eye for detail
- Have the imagination to create and try out-of-the-box concepts and ideas
This position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conceptualize, design, and develop layouts for each issue of magazine based on editorial concepts and theme of magazine
- Work together with editorial team to build concepts and ideas
- Prepare magazines for print
- Work within set brand standards
- Work with photographers, models and editors to organize and, on occasion, supervise photo shoots
- Work with sales reps and clients in completing ad concepts for magazine ads
- Work with marketing team in creating new campaigns and elements for magazine brand and working on branding/promotions/inside ads
- Conceptualize and create marketing and promotional pieces
- Design digital pieces and advertisements and prepare for web use
- Research out of box ideas and implement new concepts
- Construct photo-shoot backdrops, crafts, props, etc. as needed
