This position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create editorial calendars for Giggle magazine and Wellness360 Magazine for each issue with new and exciting ideas and perspectives
  • Compose editorial content for both magazines, social media, newsletters, or other outlets within the company using AP style of writing
  • Copyedit submitted stories for AP style
  • Manage team of freelance writers and assign stories to team of writers based on their area of expertise and writing style
  • Engage with community on up-and-coming story ideas through interviews and research
  • Read through submitted press releases to see if anything is potential stories and be able to act quickly on stories that need attention
  • Collaborate with design team to formulate layout/photo options
  • Interview and manage team of interns
  • Maintain deadlines for all projects
  • Update production calendars each year
  • Ensure the content that is produced is factually correct and within brand guidelines
  • Assist with other team projects
  • Write and proofread marketing pieces as they come up
  • Be able to interview with poise and respect, both in person and over the phone.
  • Conduct industry and market research to determine what our readers are looking for content wise.
  • Play an active role in implementing editorial ideas for the growth of the brand
  • Attend community events on behalf of the company
  • Helping with uploading content to the website and posting on social media channels
  • Serve as an instrumental part of our editorial development team, offering suggestions for new ideas and finding new ways to build partnerships in the community and beyond
  • Creating content for social media, web, newsletters that is based around editorial content and local events/world events
